OpenAI: GPT-5 will combine different models

OpenAI has confirmed that the upcoming GPT-5 will combine several models. The new large language model should be released this summer, according to OpenAI head Sam Altman. GPT-5 will be completely free, he said.

ChatGPT now contains many models for different tasks. Despite the performance of the models, it can be confusing to use them because they all have similar names. OpenAI maintains the o line for reasoning-related capabilities, while 4o and other models have multimodality.

With GPT-5, the company plans to combine the best developments from its rulings, highlighting the best capabilities.
